Halfway There: The Honest Mid-Year Business Review

You start the year with plans and goals; don’t wait until December to see how it all turned out.

Along the way, you need to check in, see what’s working, and decide what needs to change.

June is the perfect time to do that.

The challenge

What you examine can be improved or fixed.

What you don’t examine will quietly shape the rest of your year.

The real question is: how do you spot what you’re not even considering? It’s easy to focus on the most obvious metrics—sales and finances—while overlooking the experiences and processes that drive them.

The approach

Make sure you aren’t missing anything. Look at your business through 3 clear lenses::

  1. What are we doing to create customer loyalty?
  2. What are we doing to make our employees happy and motivated?
  3. What are we doing to track our goals and performance?

Keeping these areas in balance helps ensure you’re not pushing one priority forward at the expense of another.

The result

This is not about becoming perfect.

It is about becoming aware.

A strong business is one with a clear view of reality and the tools to address it.
