Focus Your Hiring To Combine Culture And Capability

*Upon request, this month I will give you one worksheet and walk you through how to use it over the following weeks
Two sets of guiding principles: one for the company, one for the role.
But how do you make them the same, yet different?
They serve different purposes, and describe different things.
What are guiding principles
Guiding principles are values in action.
They are the description of what your business values look like in real life.
Make sure you have some guiding principles already outlined for your business.
What are they in a job role
Each role in your business also has certain values. These values explain the right way—and the wrong way—to perform in the role.
Picture your ideal employee for the role in question.
Now describe the 3 top traits that make that person so good at what they do.
Those behaviors are the guiding principles you want for this role.
Alignment in hiring
Matching a candidate to your company’s guiding principles means they will fit into the culture of the business.
Marching a candidate to the role’s guiding principles means they will be able to perform the role successfully.
