Dream Big, Act Real: How Bold Goals Need Solid Ground
Goals are not a wish list.
They must push boundaries.
While starting from where you are now.
Goals start with reality
A goal does not sprout fully formed from a blank page. It develops out of your current situation. Such as your recent:
- Accomplishments: what do you celebrate in your business?
- Challenged: what will you try to avoid?
- Highlights: what are you naturally good at?
- Lessons: what will you change?
Goals build on foundations
To ensure consistency of purpose, you must also acknowledge what matters most to you, including:
- Your mission: what does it mean to you?
- Your guiding principles: why do you value these traits?
- Your vision: how will you change the world?
Goals plan your future
Only now are you ready to stretch your reality to its next phase. Ask yourself:
- What will you keep doing?
- What will you improve?
- What new thing will you start doing?
Your next goals
Whatever you choose to accomplish for the rest of this year, make sure it is balanced between ambition and reality.
