Is Your Next Client Meeting a Waste of Time? (The Worksheet)
Your time is precious.
You don’t like it when another person or business wastes your time.
And your clients don’t like when you waste their time.
Client time
There’s only so much time you can spend with your clients.
No matter how complicated or involved the work you’re doing, they also have their own jobs and lives to deal with.
You don’t get to decide how much time they dedicate to you. So when you get their attention, use it wisely.
Client interactions
Waste your clients’ time at your own peril.
If you are constantly asking for meetings with your client, to cover things that could have been sorted in an email or a phone call, they will eventually stop working with you.
But meetings are not the only way to waste their time.
If you are constantly locked in endless back and forth emails, or correcting misunderstandings, then a meeting would have been the time saver to begin with.
Client meetings
Ask for your client’s face-to-face time when you have to
- Make a new decision about a project or your work together
- Get more than yes/no feedback and discuss a “why” or “what next”
- To be confident that you have all the correct information
- And a bonus: to improve your relationship with the client
Make meetings count
Use this week’s worksheet to test the importance of each meeting and prepare to make it count.
