Double the Impact: Core Values And Role Values.

*Upon request, this month I will give you one worksheet and walk you through how to use it over the following weeks
I like to turn company values into guiding principles. In other words, clear, actionable behaviors that prove those values.
Last week’s worksheet has two spaces for guiding principles.
Why two?
Guiding principles for your business
First up are the guiding principles for your business as a whole.
These are values and behaviors you want your business to be known for, both by your clients and your team.
Ask yourself:
- How do I want people to describe my business?
- What am I doing to make it so?
Guiding principles for the role
The second set of guiding principles is for the specific role you’re hiring for.
Every job is a little different, and so are the qualities you need in the person who fills it.
Ask yourself:
- What’s most important in how this person works?
- What will they say or do that shows who they are?
Are they the same?
Hopefully not.
Just make sure they don’t contradict each other.
With both sets, you can build a team that’s not only aligned with your company’s values but also versatile, diverse, and ready to handle anything.
