Introducing Company Resources During Employee Onboarding.

Do you ever do things by rote that you don’t even think about?

Like driving home and then not remembering the commute.

Or brushing your teeth and forgetting you did it.

You don’t think about it because you do the same thing every time.

Company resources

The way you use your company resources can feel similar.

You know where to find them, how to access them, what to do with them, and more.

Not so for your new hires.

They are seeing the tools for the first time or using them in a new way. So onboard them by preparing to share all the information that comes naturally to you.

Knowing about resources

Make sure you are preparing a worksheet that includes

  • What the available resources are
  • How to access them
  • How to use them
  • Any relevant company policies
  • And how to troubleshoot when things go wrong

Using the resources

And this will include things like:

  • Hardware
  • Software
  • People—who they will work and communicate with
  • Places—the office, the amenities, the spaces they will access

What next

Need your employees to update their work plans? Let’s talk about having them write their own job descriptions
